Your loved one may be eligible for hospice services if he or she has:

• Progressive decline in health despite undergoing treatment

• Frequent hospitalizations in the past six months

• Repeat or multiple infections

• Increased or uncontrollable pain

• Progressive or profound weakness and/or fatigue

• Shortness of breath

• Difficulty swallowing

• Unplanned or continued weight loss

• Change in mental status

• Uncontrollable nausea and/or vomiting

• Other uncontrollable symptoms

Medicare and Medicaid (in some states) cover 100% of the costs related to a patient’s life-limiting illness for medications, supplies, home medical equipment, short-term inpatient and respite care, doctors’ services, and counseling services for the patient and family members. Many private insurance companies also offer hospice benefits. Our hospice staff will help you verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to admission.
