Therapy includes intermittent and part-time services provided under the order of your primary physician.
Skilled therapists will teach the patient and/or caregiver the necessary techniques, exercises or precautions -- all with the goal to restore the patient’s optimal function.
• Physical therapy can restore your muscle strength and improve your coordination, and can even help control or alleviate acute and chronic pain.
• Occupational therapy can speed your recovery from a serious illness or injury by helping you to re-learn your everyday activities or even essential life functions like eating.
• Speech therapy can help victims of brain trauma, such as a stroke, to re-train the muscles in the mouth and throat so they can speak and eat normally.
